Recycling

Why Recycle?

Recycling conserves landfill space, keeps valuable natural resources in use, and saves money on residential and business disposal costs.

In addition, a CVSWMD ordinance requires certain items to be recycled because they make up a large volume of the recyclable waste entering the municipal solid waste stream.

Households must recycle:

  • Newspaper
  • Clear glass bottles and jars
  • #2 HDPE plastic milk, water, and cider jugs
  • Tin and aluminum cans

Businesses must recycle:

  • Newspaper
  • Clear glass bottles and jars
  • #2 HDPE plastic milk, water, and cider jugs
  • Tin and aluminum cans
  • Corrugated cardboard
  • White office paper

District Recycling Depots

The CVSWMD operates four Recycling Depots within the District:

In addition, the District helps support five volunteer-run facilities that serve other member towns.
