The District's policy for Recycling Depot operations is that if the temperature is predicted to drop to -15°F with the wind chill, and only one staff person is scheduled to work at the depot that day, the depot will not open. In extreme conditions, we may close the depot even if more than one staff person is scheduled.

This policy is implemented to protect our employees. It is simply unsafe for people to be working outside in bitter cold weather and we don't want to put them at risk. If you know it's going to be a bitter cold day, please call the District to find out if the Recycling Depot will be open before you head out there.
